MANUAL OSTEOPATHIC TREATMENT

Welcome to Pure Balance Osteopathy, located in the beautiful Black Creek area south of Niagara Falls.

Osteopathy can be an effective treatment in correcting dysfunction, assisting healing, reducing pain and improving quality of life.

Manual osteopathic treatment uses a variety of techniques to support the body's own self-regulating and self-healing capabilities.  Here, we aim to improve physiological function & support homeostasis that may be affected by a dysfunction of the body, such as:

skeletal,

muscular,
myofascial,

related vascular,

visceral (organs)

lympathic,

and neural elements.

We understand the relationship between structure and function, and use this understanding to optimize the body's self-healing mechanism.

Here at Pure Balance Osteopathy, we use an array of manipulative osteopathic techniques that may be combined with other treatments, including laser therapy, neurostim, neurokinetic therapy, gua sha & muscle scraping, and soft tissue therapy.

OSTEOPATHIC WELLNESS

Even void of pain or symptoms, osteopathy treatment has many known benefits including promoting circulation, release of toxins, encouraging relaxation, maintaining healthy joint range of motion, improving posture, promoting spinal health, addressing muscle imbalances or spasms and in turn reducing injury and enhancing vitality.

DIGESTIVE ISSUES

Osteopathy can reduce soft tissue restrictions of the viscera that may be compromising the function of the organs.  Special techniques can improve circulation, lymphatic exchange and mechanical restrictions, increasing the breakdown and removal of waste, reducing inflammation and enhancing delivery to the tissues, improving function and health of the organs.

Pelvic X-Ray

BACK PAIN

Your spine consists of 33 vertebrae running from your skull to your pelvis. These building blocks are cushioned by spongy discs and connected by facet joints. Muscles and ligaments of the back work together to support the spine, hold it upright and allow for movement.  An injury can bring about dysfunction to the entire system, leading to compensatory changes in other parts of the spine or different areas in the body.  Manual osteopathic treatment can help to release tension in muscles, tendons and ligaments, easing symptoms often in one session.

SCAR RELEASE THERAPY

I have worked on scars for many years and so many patients are surprised by how much their scars have affected their quality of life.  Scars can be a source of inner dysfunction that we don't see.

CONCUSSION

Using a multi-targeted approach, Concussion and Post Concussion treatment includes drainage and fluid exchange in the brain to help put out festering inflammation and bring nourishment to injured tissues, and alignment of cranial bones that are often jammed from impact.

CRANIAL OSTEOPATHY

The cranium (skull) is actually made up of 8 cranial bones, 14 facial bones and a long list of muscles that can become strained or injured just like any other muscle in the body. Headaches, migraines, jaw or TMJ issues can be treated with manual osteopathic care.  Cranial and sacral techniques are used to maintain homeostasis.

HEADACHES OR MIGRAINES

There are many types and cause of headaches and migraines.  Osteopathy looks for the root cause of dysfunction and works to improve the system holistically.

AGING WELL

Falls in older adults are the leading cause of injury.  Osteopathy is known to improve function and balance by improving range of motion of the joints.  Techniques can target muscles related to balance and ambulation, removing impediments to asset the body to maintain striation and therefore function.  Improved balance and function, obtained through osteopathic intervention, can help reduce the changes of falls and potentially the number of injuries.
